Throughout February, the Loughlin Library Media Center has been celebrating Black History Month. In addition to curating a display of both recently released and classic book titles that celebrate Black culture, achievements, and history, the LMC has been hosting jazz and blues listening sessions, a daily biography spotlight of revered African Americans, discussions, weekly film screenings, class visits, a Black History Month prayer service, and a Black History Month Kahoot Trivia Contest.
All in all, it has been a month of realized hopes, perseverance, and dreams. To quote Langston Hughes, "For when dreams go/Life is a barren field/Frozen with snow."
