Lady Lions Bring Home State Championship Title

Congratulations to our 2020 New York State 4X4 Meter Relay Champions!

On Saturday March 7, 2020  - The New York State Indoor Championship Meet was held at The Ocean Breeze Sports Complex in Staten Island, New York. 

Loughlin set the state meet record in 4x400 relay. Congratulations to Jourdan Garnett, junior, Brianna White, senior, Anissa Moore, freshman, and Adia Palmer, senior. 

The time (3:51:46) was more than 6 seconds faster than last year’s state #1 and more than a second faster than the meet record of 3:52.88. 

Both Warwick Valley (3:51.67) and Bronxville (3:52.78) would have broken the meet record in any other year and pushed the Lady Lions for first place (nineteen teams competed for the title). 

In all, our Lions came home with the 4X4 Meter Relay Championship, a CHSAA State Record, a new Meet record, a new school record, five gold medals, one silver medal and four bronze medals. 

Senior Brianna White came in 2nd place in the 300 meters out of thirty two athletes with a time of 39.19.

Senior Adia Palmer came in 4th place in the 600 meters out of thirty athletes with a personal best time of 1.33.99. 

Junior Alanni Cannon split 1:42.7 on the 600 meter leg to help the CHSAA Sectional Relay come home with 5th place and a bronze medal. 

Sophomore Brinesha Derrick-Bain came in 8th place in the 55 meter hurdles out of thirty three athletes with a time of 8.65.

Freshmen Anissa Moore came in 8th place out of thirty  two athletes in the 300 meters with a time of 40.56

Freshmen Wesley Noble Jr split 22.5 on the 200 meter leg to help the CHSAA Sectional Relay come home with the gold and a new sectional record.
