Lasallian Pen Pals Visit From France!

Lasallian Pen Pals Visit From France!

On April 1st, Bishop Loughlin had the pleasure of welcoming 18 students and their chaperones from Saint Aubin La Salle, a Lasallian high school in Angers, France. After months of exchanging e-mails with Mrs. Harant’s French 2 and 3 Honors classes, the Saint Aubin students finally got to meet their Loughlin pen pals in person!

Over lunch, they chatted about everything from school life to favorite hobbies, quickly realizing how much they had in common despite growing up in different parts of the world. Mike Foley and members of Lasallian Youth brought everyone together with a heartfelt prayer and a lively game of Simon Says, filling the room with laughter. During the campus tour, Mr. Wilson and the Senior Band gave the Saint Aubin students a sneak peek of their upcoming Spring show. Ms. Proce welcomed the tour groups into the gym, where students were playing basketball.

Later in the afternoon, the group got a taste of an all-American sport as they watched a lacrosse practice led by Coach Dilonardo. Some even gave it a shot, learning to catch and throw the ball with Lacrosse sticks—definitely a new experience for many! To end an already exciting day, the Saint Aubin students were treated to a tour of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, taking in the vibrant arts scene of the city.

By the end of the visit, it was clear that this wasn’t just a one-day exchange; the students from Saint Aubin La Salle are excited to keep in touch with their new Loughlin friends and continue their pen pal friendships from across the ocean. Mrs. Harant’s students are also eager to keep in touch with their new friends in France! It was a day full of laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories—an experience that left a lasting impact on everyone involved.
