Lions Track Roars Into the New Year!

Lions Track had quite a weekend with a cumulative total of 6 gold medals, 6 silver, 4 bronze, and 2 MVP plaques!

On Friday, January 9th at The Officials Hall of Fame Meet held at The Armory Track & Field Center, our Lady Lions brought home three medals! One silver and two bronze!

  • Freshman Promise Terry came in 2nd place in the 200 meter and Kiersten Haggins came in 3rd place in the 200 meters and medaled in the 55 meter finals as well. 

On Saturday, January 10th at The CHSAA Brooklyn and Queens Sectionals Championship our Freshmen & Sophomore Lions brought home two MVP plaques and eight medals: five gold medals, one silver and two bronze. 

  • Congratulations to our Brooklyn/Queens Freshmen MVP, 300 meter and 400 meter Freshman Champion Amare Wickham! He came in 1st in the 300 meters and 1st in the 400 meters. 
  • Congratulations to our Sophomore MVP Champion Caiden Romeo. He came in 1st in the 300 meter and 1st in the 600 meters. 
  • Sophomore Alijah Lilies came in 1st in the 55 meters and 2nd in the 300 meters.
  • Sophomore Simon Ntuk came in 4th in the 300 meters and 4th in the 600 meters. 
  • Congratulations to Sophomore Makayla Parke! She came in 1st place in the Sophomore 55 meter hurdles
  • Our Varsity Girls Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team came in 2nd place! The team consisted of Sophomore Makayla Parke, Junior Jada Elcock, Senior Chelsea White and Sophomore Lahzai Robinson.
