Lions Track Wins B/Q and City Championship!!!

On Thursday, January 29th our Lions brought home the 2026 Brooklyn/Queens and City Championship title, along with two 1st place team plaques and 37 medals (Seventeen gold, nine sliver and eleven bronze)! The meet was held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. 

Our Lions Results 

• The Varsity Boys 4X2 came in 1st (Sophomores Alijah Lilies, Caiden Romeo, Seniors Deronne Softley and Matthew Simon)
• The Varsity Girls 4X4 came in 1st place (Najea Smith, Nia Reid, Moriah Walker and Tomi Olusanya)
• The Varsity Girls 4X2 came in 1st and 2nd (1st: Senior Chelsea White, Sophomore Morgan Bass, Freshmen Kiersten Haggins and Promise Terry; 2nd: Junior Jada Elcock, Sophomore Lahzai Robinson, Makayla Parke and Olivia Dorsonne)
• The Varsity Girls 4X8 came in 5th (Junior Camille Cruz, Liyah Bryan, Sophomore Zanai Millington and Freshman Denver Sledge) 

Individual Stand Outs

• Senior Matthew Simon 1st in the 300 meters
• Senior Austin Morris 1st in the 600 meters, 4th in the 300
• Senior Deronne Softley 2nd in the 300 meters
• Sophomore Alijah Lilies 2nd in the 55 meters 
• Sophomore Caiden Romeo 3rd in the 300 meters
• Freshman Amare Wickham who gave his best with a 6th place against a field  of Varsity runners 
• Senior Chelsea White 2nd in the 55 meters and 3rd in the High Jump
• Senior Tomi Olusanya 1st in the Triple Jump and 4th in the 600
• Senior Moriah Walker 5th in the Triple Jump
• Senior Nia Reid 4th in the 300 meters
• Junior Camille Cruz 4th in the 1000
• Junior Najea Smith 1st in the 300 meters and 2nd in the Long Jump
• Junior Jada Elcock 3rd in the 55 meter Hurdles
• Sophomore Makayla Parke 1st in the 55 meter Hurdles
• Sophomore Morgan Bass 1st in the 55 meters and 1st in the Long Jump
• Sophomore Lahzai Robinson 6th in the 55 meter Hurdles
• Freshman Promise Terry 1st in the High Jump and 2nd in the 300 meters

The Track & Field Lady Lions won their City Championship with a total of 48 points and their Brooklyn & Queens Championship with a total of 81 points.
