Loughlin Biomed Program host 2nd Annual White Coat Ceremony

Loughlin Biomed Program host 2nd Annual White Coat Ceremony

We are very proud of our outstanding Biomedical Science Program. In only our fourth year with Project Lead The Way (PLTW), a remarkable 35 senior students earned their White Coats recognizing 3 years in the program. The ceremony involved proud parents, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and several alumni. Department Chair, Orlando Santiago, led the ceremony and the program itself. “I am proud of the 35 students with us today, especially their willingness to step up and take challenging biomedical science STEM coursework.  They took a chance to become a part of something new and exciting and they have been rewarded with a great experience.”

We also welcomed Dr. Jeanette Toney ’05 who practices medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mike Foley provided a terrific introduction for Dr. Toney welcoming her back to alma mater. She spoke of her time playing for Providence College as a volleyball player while also maintaining her grades as a Biology major. She spoke about the discipline required to navigate through medical school.
