Spring Sports Recap

Spring Sports Recap

It has been a tough year, but we are so fortunate our students got to have fun by being able to participate in sports during the Spring Season. Varsity Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field had a busy season, and we even were able to squeeze in shortened schedules for our non-Spring sports such as Volleyball and Basketball.

Varsity Baseball made it to the semi-final playoff and sadly lost to St. John's Prep. They also had 3 players make the CHSAA Division A All League (featured in thumbnail, from left to right: William Polanco Jr. '21, Shane Williams '23, and Antonio Pena '21).

Varsity Softball also made playoffs, losing to Nazareth in a very close game, 21-20! Ashley Orellana '21 made the CHSAA All League Softball team.

Track & Field continues to impress us as well. Despite the cold and the rain the Lions powered through the day at the Women's and Men's Intersectional Championship. The Lions came home with a total of eight medals., two gold, three slivers and three bronze. Here are the highlights:

  • Senior Sean Russell he finished with a 3rd place in the Triple Jump.
  • Junior Brinesha Derrick-Bain came home with two gold and a silver.
  • Sophomore Morgan Middleton came home with two bronze
  • Sophomore Taylor Stewart  came home with a silver medal.
  • A special congratulations to sophomore Wesley Noble Junior he came in a close second with an impressive and a personal best time of 48.85 in the 400 meters.

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes on your hard work and dedication throughout the season! We are so proud of you!
