Sustainability Class Showcases Creative Projects Built From Recycled Materials

Recently, our Environmental Sustainability class worked to design, build, test, and market products made out of recycled materials, and other objects otherwise headed for the landfill.

This year we had an impressive set of creations:

1) A pulley system intended to help injured and the elderly lift heavy objects;

2) A modular desk organizer with interchangeable components and built-in waste basketball hoop;

3)A water hourglass that was impressively consistent;

4)An insulated picnic bag; and 5)An orthopedic boot that was quite snug and comfortable.

Stay tuned for our future Newtown Creek and AMNH trip posts!
