On Saturday, December 6th at The Staten Island High School Track & Field Relays our Track & Field Lions brought home a meet record, a New York number one time & a total of 21 medals! Four gold, eleven sliver & six bronze.
A special congratulations to our Varsity Girls 4X2 (photo). They set a new meet record and are ranked number one in New York (Senior Tomi Olusanya, Freshman Kiersten Haggins, Sophomore Morgan Bass and Freshman Promise Terry).
Sophomore Makayla Parke started the day off for the Lions by placing in the Varsity 55 meter hurdles.
Our Freshmen Lady Lions 4X2 relay came in 2nd place while making their indoor high school debut (the team of Dakota Alston, Nylah McNamee, Jamya Abdur-Rashid and Jailyn Reid). Our Sophomore Lady Lions 4X4 relay came in 2nd place (the team of Makayla Parke, Olivia Dorsonne, Alexis Taylor and Zanai Millington). In the two person high jump relay Freshman Promise Terry and Senior Chelsea White came in 2nd place.
The Varsity Boys Sprint medley medaled as well (the team of Senior Roman Henry Jr., Deronne Softley, Matthew Simon and Austin Morris). Senior Eustace Williams medaled in the open 400 meters.
