Track & Field Lions Earn Gold at Penn Relays

The Bishop Loughlin Track & Field Lions delivered an impressive showing at the 130th Annual Penn Relays in Philadelphia, bringing home a Penn Relays Championship plaque and four gold medals after winning their heat in the varsity boys 4x400 relay.

The winning 4x400 team—Senior Roman Henry Jr., Senior Matthew Simon, Sophomore Caiden Romeo, and Senior Austin Morris—closed out their Penn Relays experience on a high note, marking a memorable final appearance for the senior athletes.

The Lady Lions also had a strong performance, with both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams posting season-best times. The 4x100 team included Senior Chelsea White, Freshman Kiersten Haggins, Sophomore Morgan Bass, and Senior Tomi Olusanya. The 4x400 team featured Senior Moriah Walker, Freshman Kiersten Haggins, Junior Najea Smith, and Senior Tomi Olusanya.

The boys 4x100 team—Sophomore Alijah Lilies, Senior Matthew Simon, Senior Deronne Softley, and Senior Roman Henry Jr.—also competed with determination and represented Loughlin well on the national stage.

In addition to their performances, the Lady Lions had the opportunity to meet professional sprinter Samirah Moody, adding a special moment to an already exciting weekend.
